Introduction
Long-term effectiveness, low maintenance, reliable functioning with high accuracy, and resistance to various mechanical and geochemical impacts are major attributes of monitoring systems devised to be operated at least during the operational phase of a repository. Providing such attributes fiber optic monitoring systems remotely controlled over several decades could be understood as a powerful quality assurance tool in regard to repository planning and operation. Due to these reasons DBE TECHNOLOGY is developing and implementing sensing systems based on fiber optic technology for monitoring purposes at underground disposal sites since 1995.
An advanced sensing technology combined with well designed installations provides a powerful monitoring tool for various geotechnical tasks.
