Stand of DBE TECHNOLOGY GmbH at the Kerntechnik 2010 annual conference in Berlin.
The German lobby organisations for nuclear technology the "Deutsche Atomforum" and the "Kerntechnische Gesellschaft" arranged the "Kerntechnik 2010" annual conference from May, 04.-06.2010 in the conference centre at Berlin. The conference issues included all aspects of civil application of nuclear technology from basic research to safety issues and radiation protection, fuel supply and management incl. final disposal of radioactive waste up to operation and decommissioning of nuclear facilities.
Together with her project partners BGR (Federal Office for Geosciences and Resources, Hanover), GNS (Company for Nuclear-Services, Essen) and GRS (Company for Facility and Reactor Safety, Braunschweig) DBE TECHNOLOGY GmbH presented results from R&D projects for direct disposal of spent fuel at the topical and technical sessions for final disposal:
- Further development of a safety assessment concept for a HLW repository in salt formations.
- Development of a FEP-catalogue for a repository for high level radioactive waste and spent fuel in salt formations taking the Gorleben salt dome as an example.
- The proof of safe enclosure for a HLW repository in salt formations.
- Results of R&D work for the final disposal concept "Direct Disposal of Spent Fuel Rods in Canisters (BSK)"
Contemporaneously with the conference, there was an accompanying industrial exhibition. Here, DBE TECHNOLOGY GmbH presented her business activities, her areas of expertise and her broad spectrum of service offers in the fields of radioactive waste management.
